In the religious mythology of Hinduism, PindDaan is the last rite of the dead. It is done for the salvation of the deceased soul. Pitru Paksha (Sanskrit) : पितृ पक्ष), also spelt as Pitri paksha, Pitr Paksha (literally “fortnight of the ancestors”) is a 16–lunar day period in Hindu Calendar when Hindus pay homage to their ancestors (Pitrs), especially through food offerings.
It was during the Pitra Paksha of 2018, that Vaastav Foundation of Mumbai organised a #PindDaan of toxic feminism at the holy city of Nashik (Maharasthra, India) at Ram Ghat situated on the banks of river Godavari. The event was organized on Sunday the 07 October 2018.
